The Entreprize has been created as a collective and conscious site to provide information and international exchanges for people. We promote ecological and culturally ethical alternatives to lifestyle, education and travel.

Through volunteering and trading options, we provide broader intercultural experiences to those who are interested in fare-trade, hands-on participation and learning.

Unlike WWOOF; there is no membership fee and willing individuals may contribute their ideas and knowledge to expand the prospects within the company it's self.

Like Couch-surfers; we assist world travelers in search of budget stays, a safe environment and local culture. We also offer permaculture volunteering, sailing lessons, language exchange  and many more exiting opportunities. We continue to create meaningful connections between individuals and the developing sustainable communities, with great appreciation to those individuals who have their own skills and support to offer.

Update from M.E.T.!

   

Well, things are heating up here in Belize.. 

This past weekend we experienced the Taste of Belize!  Cafe Cayo and Barton Creek Oupost sponsored Stephanie, their cook, to compete.  We were all there to support her.  She didn't place, but did very well, advancing to the final round past other tuff compitition as the chefs from Radison, Blancaneaux, and Turtle In.  The food was all beautifully presented and delicious!  Jackie and I were taking notes.  Good times. We will all definately be there next year! 

Arran was recently helecoptered into the Sibun River Gorge, to do an Expidition down the river!  It took 4 days.  Arran guided and cooked for them every night.  Carlton said it was the best food he had ever had.  The lobster curry was amazing.  They found large fish, snails, and fresh water lobster to add to the menu.  Adjender, Arran, and Carlton enjoyed some nice river rafting and jungle time!  They saw a tapir up close and were amazed to find such large fish and lobster in the river!  I am going next time! 

The Septic Solution Company is up and running.. Our septic here at MET is full of what has become clear water, rich in nitrogen so, good to water the garden with.  The Barracuda is going to clean up Belize!   

Under Trevor Bevis's Skype you can view a short video of MET.. Another great production of Trevors.  We are enjoying having him here right now, helping out!  He is a natural comedian.

We havein  reservations still coming so it looks like it won't be such a dry season for MET after all!  It's great and will help us keep things growing! 

Sol and Dina are doing great on the baboo farm!  I attached a pic.  They will be getting married in Jan. in Florida.

more to come on the Palapa on Lions Caye.....   And a spa to come at MET!! yeah!

oh, we had a scare with Ginger, almost lost her.  She came down with something that made her run around like crazy, made her blind, and almost killed her.. We didn't know if it was rabbies or what, but our neighbor had had this happen to his dog before, and apparently it is pretty common, So thank goodness for home remedies... we weren't able to catch her the first day, as she was running into the bush like a mad dog, but in the morning we heard her houling like a wolf and Arran roped her.  We fed her the mixture of Gun Powder and Milk and instantly she started calming down and slept for almost 2 days. The locals say it is something they get when they eat the insided of an animal during this season when that animal has eaten from the poison wood tree.  She is back with us now.. still a little wobily, but recovering.  gracias dios

NEWS M.E.T. ~ Darker Side of Paradise

This is just too wild, so I had to share it with you!    It hits very close to home.

I'm reading this book right now... The beginning starts out with her standing on the balcony of the house that Arran and I currently live in, looking out on the view we see every day and talking about the horseback trips we take people on and the destinations we go to...  Most names are changed, many of you might recognize people in it.  . Jim and Marguerite were there.

This is the Lady that started MET...  They are writing a screen play right now.

Wild... interesting read.. . It talks about the horrible problems of abuse..  It is fiction, but there is a whole lot truth.

GREETINGS

Hi Everyone!
I have just come in from working in the garden pulling weeds, trying to get caught up on all the chores left since I took off for the winter vacation.  All my tulips are in full bloom and I am shocked to find flowers still blooming that should have died off over the winter.  Global Warming?  I´ve been working composing this letter as I have been putzing around the house the last couple of days.  This should have been done when we launched the website but access to a computer in Placencia, BZ was not that convenient.  Anyway this is to be my invitation to you to join the Entreprize and become a crew member.

Why would you want to do this?  First, it doesn't´t cost you anything, and second it may provide you with the kind of opportunity that as an individual you may never have a chance to encounter.

Although it has been a couple of weeks since we launched the website, I´ve actually been mulling the concept of this Lifeshare´s Trading Co. for at least a couple of years.  I´ve been fortunate in my life in being able to travel a great deal and visit a number of countries and to meet people from variety of places and cultures.  In my travels I have often met people who I feel share many of the concerns I have about this world and our future.  Globalization is a real phenomena, even in some of the most remote areas of the planet we can watch CNN.  Our world is smaller today with the loss of much cultural diversity.  This is my major concern as to the direction of this globalization.  Are we to leave our values in the hands of political parties as to who are our enemies and who are are allies?  The corporations controlling the media.  Where we begin and where we end.  What is education and what is not?

A Lifeshare´s Trading Co., a company that recognizes that everyone has a share of this planet.  No doubt some have bigger shares than others, however, more does not necessarily, physically mean better, as we can observe by increase of physical and mental illness in the developed world.  As a company of like minded people, each and everyone of us has something to offer whether it be a practical skill, physical labor, inspiration or enthusiasm.

Now I hope that I have explained the motivation for setting this company up and a platform for comment and discussion.  I invite you to send us at > the_entreprize@hotmail.com a photo, a short personal profile, and any other link to your own personal projects that we will promote as well.

As it stands to date, I have been in Belize for the last two months working on the Entreprize.  Why Belize?  Because the opportunities to really make a difference in the world seems to me to be most apparent here.  Belize is classified as a Third World country with all that that entails.  Yet there is an abundance of untouched natural beauty with endless possibilities for setting up this global community while obtaining and preserving large plots of environment and people.  For all of you who are like myself, like to escape the winter, we have a number of projects to work in Belize.  Right now Leslie is trying to manage by himself running tours, building a septic tank , and planting on Lion´s Caye.  So far, I´m financing everything but it is possible that when we get more of the projects functioning we will be able to supply our members with a very comfortable existence in a very healthy environment.  Lion´s Project is up and running.  We´ve drawn up the plans for the guest house on the island. 
Besides Belize, Danny will be coming to Japan to help me prepare a container to ship to Belize. Solar panels, diesel generators, sewing machines, etc.  And the list keeps growing.  Along with preparing the container, Danny will also be able to take advantage of all this great film editing equipment I have.  There´s talk of having a gallery exhibition here in Tokyo as well.

I get overwhelmed at times facilitating all that is going on.  I'm back in Japan and back to work.  However, I must remember some of our basic concepts that is;  slow simple and small; and reduce, reuse and recycle.  I´ll try my best not to sweat it.  Jump aboard anytime, let me know what it is that you would like to trade in the Entreprize.  Find yourself a niche and enjoy the voyage!

冬の休暇で留守にしている間に溜まった家事と奮闘していて、ついさきほど庭仕事を終えたところです。　庭ではこの冬の間に枯れてしまっていてもおかしくないと思っていたチューリップが満開で、本当に驚きました。 温暖化の影響なのでしょうか。 この数日間、自宅で過ごしながらこのメッセージの構想を考えていました。　本来ならば本サイトを立ち上げた際にご挨拶できればよかったのですが、その時滞在先していたベリーズのPlacenciaというところではPCの使用が難しい環境であったため、帰国するまで待たなくてはなりませんでした。　しかしようやく、このサイトを訪れた皆さんを、正式にエンタープライズへご招待するができました。　皆さんがクルーメンバーとしてエンタープライズのプロジェクトに参加されることを心より歓迎します。エンタープライズに参加するメリットとは何なのでしょう？まず、費用は一切かかりません。そして、個人としては滅多に得られない貴重な体験をすることができます。
このサイトを立ち上げてから数週間しか経っていませんが、ライフシェアトレーディングの構想には少なくとも数年を費やしました。　私は幸運にも旅をする機会に恵まれ多くの国を訪れてきました。　そして、それぞれの国の各地域で独特な文化を持つ人々に出会いました。　そうした旅の中で、特に現在の世界の状況や未来についての私の関心や懸念を共有できる人たちとの出会いも多々ありました。　昨今のグローバリゼーションにより、地球上のどんな僻地でもCNNニュースなどを視聴することが可能になりました。　一方で世界がより小さくなるにつれ、文化の多様性はますます失われています。　このことがグローバリゼーションに対して私が一番懸念していることなのです。　我々は、自分たちにとって誰が悪者であり誰が味方であるかの判断を、政治家あるいは特定の政党の基準に委ねているだけでいいのでしょうか。　我々がマスメディアを通して得る情報でさえ、企業にコントロールされているのが現実なのです。　私たちはこのままどこへ辿り着こうとしているのでしょうか。　何が教育で何がそうでないのか、何が決めているのでしょう。ライフシェアトレーディングは、誰もがこの地上で豊かな生活をすることができると考えています。　もちろん一部の人は他の人と比べ、より裕福であることは事実です。 しかし、より豊かであることが必ずしもより良い心身の健全を意味しているとは限りません。　このことは、先進国において身体、精神の疾病が増加していることからも明らかです。　ライフシェアトレーディングは、こうした考えを共有するメンバーで構成されており、一人一人が役立つもの、実用的な技術や労働力の提供、あるいは閃きや励ますことによって、何かが与えることができると考えています。

Life-Skills and Interests:  As I child I always wanted to be a farmer and have managed to at least grow some semblance of a garden every year of my life. Before becoming a professor at Sophia University teaching English here in Japan, I experienced a wide variety of manual jobs. I have twelve years of apple picking, along with tree planting, commercial fishing and living close to the land in British Columbia. I've been a world traveler and have had the opportunity to meet a lot of folks from a lot of different cultural backgrounds participating in cultural exchanges. I am in a great position to offer accommodations in Canada, and in Japan. I have taken to painting and playing flute again after a long busy period of working as a teacher and mother.
I'm interested in being a global citizen. As the Founder of the Entreprize, I wish to share a concept of a global community sharing my pool of resources, this includes a limited financing for worthy projects, video editing and computer equipment etc...

What I want to do: I want to link people and resources, to give individuals an opportunity to value personal experiences and knowledge through sharing as an international online community. I want to physically participate in setting up sustainable projects around the world. Life-Skills and Interests:  I'm a permanent student and traveling musician.  I speak some Japanese and German, and I really just want to travel and learn and do something that will have a good impact on the environment and communities.  I'm a couchsurfer and a WWOOFer, but I haven't done much traveling outside of the U.S., Japan, and Ireland, so I'm excited to see more of the world and work with other nomads and friendly people.  I play music wherever I go, joining in jam sessions and playing with bands, and I'm a poet and an aspiring writer of prose fiction.  I love cooking Indian food, and I'm a happy vegetarian.  I'm a scholar of religion (Indian religion, mostly), and I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree in religion/literature in Tokyo.  I draw my creativity from my experiences, and so I hope to grow creatively as I experience more of the world around me.
